Matthew LaHue has been named the new principal of Rockdale Elementary School following action taken during a Special Board Meeting on Friday, May 22.
Mr. LaHue brings more than 25 years of experience in education and has a strong background in instructional leadership and supporting academic growth. While he has deep roots in Texas education, he also spent 10 years serving as both a teacher and administrator in Alaska, bringing a wide range of experiences and perspectives to our campus.
As previously shared, Mr. LaHue had originally been announced as assistant principal. Because of his promotion to principal, the assistant principal position remains open, and we are continuing the interview process to ensure the right fit for our campus and community.
We look forward to the leadership, experience, and student-centered approach Mr. LaHue will bring to Rockdale Elementary and the positive impact he will have on our students, staff, and families.
