Rockdale ISD is steeped in pride and tradition with blue and gold seen throughout our community. RISD is located in Central Texas and serves about 1500 students at four campuses. S.B. 2428 mandates the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) placement of a student found possessing or using an e-cigarette.

Rockdale ISD trustees named Hunter Hamrick as the next Athletic Director and Head Football Coach for Rockdale ISD at the December 12, 2022 regular board meeting. Coach Hamrick will replace current Athletic Director Jacob Campsey.

[October 5, 2022] - A group of community leaders have come together to form a foundation to support Rockdale ISD public schools. The Rockdale ISD Education Foundation (RISDEF) has announced their focus to enhance community support and to expand resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize opportunities for all students in the Rockdale ISD School District.

Pre-K is now free to all 4-year-olds living inside RISD boundaries beginning with the 2022-23 school year.

ParentSquare allows parents and guardians in RISD to receive all of their communications from the district in one unified app and service.
