Hasselbach named as next principal of Rockdale High School

Mr. Hasselbach graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University and his Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University.  Mr. Hasselbach has been in education for 24 years as a high school social studies teacher, department chair, football coach, head track and field coach and an assistant principal. After working in Lorena ISD and Lexington ISD, Brent joined Rockdale High School in 2004, becoming the Assistant Principal in 2010.

Mr. Hasselbach and his wife Leslie moved to Rockdale in 2001.  Leslie is the Art and Music teacher at Rockdale Intermediate. They have three children:  Annie (RHS ’17) is studying education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Doss (RHS ’19) is studying mathematics and minoring in education at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and Jake (Class of ’22) is a student at Rockdale High School.

According to Dr. Monzingo, Superintendent of Schools, the school board is excited that Brent will be taking over the reins. Brent has played a large part in bringing Rockdale High School to its current status as a nationally recognized campus, and we are confident that he will continue to move Rockdale High School forward. He has a love for Rockdale schools and the community and wants nothing but the best for our students.

Please join us as we welcome Brent Hasselbach to his new position which begins January 6, 2020.
