September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Rockdale ISD is proud to join the fight with its 10th annual “Gold Out” game, set for this Friday as the Tigers face off against the Lexington Eagles.

The district is piloting the Instant Language Assistant (ILA), a product of TranslateLive, designed to provide real-time interpretation and eliminate communication barriers.

On Thursday, August 7, Rockdale Independent School District proudly recognized 23 exceptional teachers for their dedication, impact, and excellence in the classroom, awarding a total of $375,592 through the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program. Individual awards ranged from $4,539 to $24,529, marking a significant investment in educators who are changing lives every day.

Rockdale High School is proud to announce that seniors Layla Barrera, Alvan Liu, Jack Luckey, Macy McDaniel, and Jason Ponnaiya have earned national recognition from the College Board for their outstanding academic achievements. This distinguished honor is awarded to students who have excelled academically, demonstrated exceptional performance on standardized exams, and met the rigorous criteria set forth by the College Board.

The U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded Rockdale Independent School District (RISD) a generous grant of $5.25 million to renovate the College & Career Academy. This significant investment marks a transformative step towards enhancing educational opportunities for Rockdale students.

Rockdale ISD will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge for the entire 2024-2025 school year. 

The Rockdale Independent School District (RISD) Child Nutrition Department has once again demonstrated excellence in providing healthy, locally sourced meals and nutritional education to its students, earning two prestigious awards from the Texas Department of Agriculture for the 2023-24 school year.

Rockdale High School is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Quinn as the new Band Director for the upcoming school year. Quinn, currently finishing the school year at Bryan ISD, brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the Rockdale ISD music program.

The Rockdale ISD Educational Foundation awarded nine grants totalling $24,800 across all four campuses on Tuesday. The Foundation was accompanied by the RHS drumline, cheerleaders, drill team and Rocky the Tiger as they delivered the prizes to the winning educators.

[October 5, 2022] - A group of community leaders have come together to form a foundation to support Rockdale ISD public schools. The Rockdale ISD Education Foundation (RISDEF) has announced their focus to enhance community support and to expand resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize opportunities for all students in the Rockdale ISD School District.
